Question,
Did your guests perfectly coordinate outfits for that next level Wedding Group Photo?
BUT… did they coordinate a rainbow… and totally unplanned at that!?
Well, Joseph and Ian’s guests did, and just look at the awesome image that came from it!
And what’s more, this wedding was also our largest wedding of 2022, which was perfect for putting out brand new event spaces to the ultimate test!
Joseph and Ian really made the venue their own, and ensured everything that was important to them shone throughout: fun, family and friends, and most importantly, LOVE.
So, let’s look more at how their special day panned out…
The couple woke up to the beautiful views at Toad Hall and spent the morning getting ready side-by-side.
The to-be-weds started their day in style with a huge pre-ceremony Welcome Drinks Reception. And as there were just so many people who had so many wonderful things to day about this lovely couple, we were warmed up to the Ceremony with some beautiful speeches. It was such a lovely way to welcome everybody and set the mood for a perfect day.
We love to see new ideas making the most of the beautiful spaces we are so blessed to have here at Happy Valley. With 9 acres to play with, we love to see how couples put their stamp on Happy Valley history.
J+I made their mark with a unique Circular Ceremony. The couple walked in hand-in-hand together and were encircled by all of their loved ones throughout a very touching and heartwarming celebration of their love.
The soundtrack? The most beautiful selection of popular hits from over the years in strings - make sure to listen to “2 Become 1” by Cairn String Quartet - we had pure shivers, absolutely breathtaking!
The couple then lead their wedding party down through the winding field paths, past the Happy Valley waterside, back to the Cattle Yard for their party.
The couple treated their favourites to a garden full of fun games, lovingly thought-out vintage-decked hang-out areas, and enough beverages to fill our pond!
Dinner was a proper British picnic with all of those good Summer favourites to truly sate those appetites. This picnic was enjoyed banqueting-style in the spacious Happy Valley Dutch Barn, which the couple decorated every inch with colourful bunting, photographs of wonderful memories shared with their loved ones over the years, and placed real trees on every pillar.
We adored the thoughtful and powerful LGBTQ+ messages displayed all around the room. With stories of LGBTQ+ activists and how they played their huge part in helping this couple’s dreams come to life. We can only thank J+I for spreading the LOVE and teaching us new things about these important parts of society’s journey over the years!
If you can make a positive impact and spread incredible messages from your love story on your special day, do it!
And now it’s the part you’ve all been waiting for….
The couple shots!
And what tears can’t be soaked up by some scrummy cake?! Next was the cake cutting, handmade by Joseph himself!
And just to top it all off. Here’s our absolute favourite photo from the Sharker’s wonderful wedding…
The First Dance
WOW. What a Wedding! Thank you to Joseph and Ian, their friends and family, and their lovely suppliers for making such a beautiful wedding vision come to life for this beautiful couple.
We wish we could do it all again.
And in the loving words of Joseph and Ian, many before them, and people now and to come…
LOVE IS LOVE.
