We went to bed with the snow falling, kiddies expecting it to be all gone by the morning like usual but NOOOOOOO.
The Beast from the East had arrived and what a beautiful beast it was to.
It was like waking up in the alps and pure joy spread across the house. I felt like i was 6 again. Ski suits on and out of the house by 6.30am to try skiing for the first time. Well, Barnaby was!.
I bought him a pair of skis from a charity shop when he was just a baby. I've had them in his room ever since. He tried them on with his wellies and incredibly they fit. Yes with wellies! I couldn't believe it. He was off. I showed him the basics and he was pretty much skiing by mid morning.
We drove up to Happy Valley, where the name originates, just across the road. My Grandfather, Frank, called this part of the Farm Happy Valley and it's not hard to see why. It's not hard to find serenity in the snow around here.
The Cows on the brow of the hill. Enjoying some Winter Sun.
Our cabins are all heated with wood burners and or radiators, kitchenette, hob, toaster, kettle, cooking utensils, bbq, fire pit, woodland garden & play area. Hammocks dotted throughout the site and rope swings. Toast some marshmallows on the fire and enjoy some forest therapy.
Take a dip in the wood fired hot tub. Incredible on a crisp winters day. She sits in a glade so you can star gaze, surround by firs, inhaling natures own. It's health benefits are felt instantly and you'll have the best night sleep ever.
When nature takes over and forces you to stop, it's easier to enjoy. I'm so grateful for the past few days. Making memories that will last forever and are totally priceless.
Hope you're enjoying yourselves and staying safe.
Love
Katy, Scott, Barnaby & Annie x
